Obtaining an Indian visa from Spain or Australia might seem like an impossible task, but in reality, there are just a few steps that you need to follow in order to obtain your required visa. The most important thing to know about obtaining an Indian visa from Spain or Australia is that the process will go much faster if you have all of your documents ready and sorted out before you begin the application process. If you are prepared and organized, your Indian visa application will likely be approved within two weeks! Here are five easy steps to getting an Indian visa from Spain or Australia
Step 1: Check your eligibility
If you’re planning on visiting India, there are certain criteria that must be met in order for you to obtain a visa. First and foremost, Indian visas can only be obtained from Indian embassies and consulates abroad. If you aren’t already in India, then getting your visa will entail a trip to one of these designated locations. For Australians and Spaniards looking for a visa, that means making arrangements for travel out of either Australia or Spain. As far as Indians living in these countries go, they can simply apply online via their home computers. In fact, doing so has become so popular that if you search Google Maps for Indian Embassy Madrid it will even take you directly there! Indian Visa from Australia
Step 2: Prepare your documents
To apply for a visitor visa to India, you’ll need copies of your birth certificate and passport, as well as two passport-size photos. Some tourist visas require additional documentation, such as proof of residence and employment. The Embassy will provide you with a list when you apply for your visa. If there is something missing in your application packet, it could delay processing; so it’s best to have all your paperwork ready before you apply. Depending on what type of Indian visa you are applying for, some passports expire before others (some passports last 10 years while others last five). Make sure that your passport does not expire within six months of applying for your Indian tourist visa!
Step 3: Make an appointment with the nearest VFS office
VFS has a wide network of offices around India. The Australian and Spanish citizens would need to book an appointment at one of these VFS offices through online registration (you will get further instructions on how to register once you get your visa application form.) So, first-time applicants can go directly to their nearest VFS office while people with experience might have already registered with one of these. This process is similar for both Indian visas from Australia and Spanish citizens. Also, remember that in case you change your address or locality, it is important that you update your address/contact details at the VFS website after which they would send your new appointment date as well as information about where exactly you should come for biometric fingerprinting (more on that later). Step 4: Get in touch with a travel agent
Once you’ve booked your flight and hotels, get in touch with a travel agent who specializes in India. Tell them what kind of trip you want—whether it’s beaches, mountains, temples; all-inclusive resorts; religious pilgrimages; adventure tours and wildlife safaris; or whatever else—and ask them for suggestions on where to go. Once they give you a few ideas, read up on those areas so that you can present yourself as informed (even if it’s just Wikipedia articles) when speaking with them. Depending on how far in advance your trip is booked, there are still plenty of last-minute options out there for last-minute travelers—so never be afraid to ask for help!
Step 5: Leave for India!
You’ve made it. Your Indian visa is approved and your flights are booked. All that’s left is for you to pack your bags, say goodbye to your loved ones, and enjoy a memorable Indian holiday!
