Going to Turkey on vacation or on business? While a trip to this country may have been in your travel plans for quite some time, it’s likely that you don’t have the information you need to obtain your Turkey visa easily and quickly. In this guide, we’ll go over what documents you need to submit, how long each document should be valid, and any other important details you should know before heading to the Turkish consulate! We’ll also talk about whether or not you can use an expedited visa service and if so, how it works, and how much it costs!
Not sure if you need a visa?
Most people will need a visa to visit Turkey. In general, travelers will be issued an electronic visa when they arrive in Turkey; however, there are some cases where you may require a visa before arriving. If you’re planning on studying or working in Turkey, traveling with family or children under 18 years of age, or have been refused entry into any other country within 180 days of your trip to Turkey, then it is likely that you’ll need a visa before coming to TURKEY VISA FOR CANADIAN CITIZENS.
How long will your stay be?
To apply for a turkey visa as a Canadian citizen, you will need to plan to stay at least 3 months. In order to prove that you’ll be staying in Turkey for longer than 90 days, you must have your passport stamped when you arrive. If you have a multiple entry visa, then simply have it stamped on your next trip out of Turkey. A one-year YC is sufficient for applying for a turkey visa from Canada. However, if staying longer than 1 year, we suggest getting an APS approval (residence permit). Do not forget to bring all necessary documents and make sure that your Canadian passport has 6 months of validity upon arrival in TURKEY VISA FROM CANADA.
The Application Process
Turkish Visas are hard to get, but they’re not impossible. One of the main reasons Canadians have a difficult time with their visa applications is that they don’t know where to begin. They go to Google and look for Turkey Visa Canada and are led down many dead ends, filled with questionable immigration lawyers and useless immigration services. This post will explain what you need to do in order to properly apply for your Turkey Visa as a Canadian citizen (hint: it’s not all that different from other visas).
What to do when you arrive in Turkey
Canadians must apply for their visa online. After logging into your account, you will be directed to your profile page. From there, click on apply for a Turkish visa and begin filling out all of your information. If you need further assistance, check out their detailed instructions. Be sure to fill in all required fields and attach any necessary documentation (passport photo, proof of travel plans) before submitting your application.
Where can I apply for my e-Visa?
Canadian citizens can apply for their Turkey e-visas through Turkey’s official visa Apply Online). However, as of April 1st, 2016, Canadians no longer need to go through travel agencies to acquire their e-visas for Turkey (see below for more details). To begin your application you will need your citizenship number, passport number, and date of birth to obtain your electronic visa approval letter. There is an online fee of $20 CAD + a 2% service charge payable in addition to any fees charged by Turkish banks when you pay online with a credit card or PayPal account. If you are successful in obtaining an e-Visa then you will receive it within 3 working days of applying.
Tips and Tricks
Visiting Turkey is a great vacation choice. However, if you’re planning to visit Turkey as a tourist, it can be a little tricky to get your visa. If you are a Canadian citizen who wants to visit Turkey and plan on staying for more than three months, you will need to obtain a laissez-passer from Canada or your country of origin. The good news is that applying for and obtaining a laissez-passer is rather easy and straightforward.
